Last updated: 1st January 2019

Summary:

I respect the EU’s General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and this policy explains how I collect and treat any information you give me. You won’t find any complicated legal terms or long passages of unreadable text. I’ve no desire to trick you into agreeing to something you might later regret.

My policy covers:

Why I value your privacy

How I collect information

What information I hold

IP addresses & Cookies

What I use your information for

Who has access to information about you

The steps I take to keep your information private

Right to object

Changes to the policy

Why I value your privacy

I value your privacy as much as I do my own, so I’m committed to keeping your personal and business information safe. I’m uncomfortable with the information companies, governments, and other organisations keep on file, so I ask for only the bare minimum from my customers. I’ll never use your personal information for any reason other than why you gave it, and I’ll never give anyone access to it unless I’m forced to by law.

How I collect information

I ask for contact information including your name, email address, and phone number on my website so that I can reply to your enquiry. My website doesn’t use cookies or scripts that were designed to track the websites you visit. I don’t use analytics or native social media ‘like’ or ‘sharing’ buttons which also build profiles of your internet activity. I collect your email address when you sign up for one of my newsletters. I ask for your Paypal and contact information when you buy something from me.

What information I hold

When you contact me by email or through my website, I collect your name, email address, phone number, and the company you work for, if you’ve given me that. If you sign up for a newsletter, I only collect your email address. When you buy something from me, I collect your name, email address, phone number, and a delivery address. If you do business with me, I also collect your business name, if provided, and keep records of the invoices I send you and the payments you make. All purchases are processed by Paypal, my ecommerce platform and I never have access to your credit card information.

IP addresses & Cookies

My site uses cookies to distinguish you from other users of my site. This helps me to provide you with a good experience when you browse my site and also allows me to improve my site and to speed up your searches. If you want to disable cookies please refer to your browser help.

What I use your information for

I occasionally use your contact information to send you details of my products and services. When I do, you have the option to unsubscribe from these communications and I won’t send them to you again. I might also email or phone you about my products and services, but if you tell me not to, I won’t get in touch again. I will use your information to send you invoices, statements, or reminders.

Who has access to information about you

When I store information in my own systems, only I have access. I have access to everything you’ve provided, but only access what is needed to do my job.

The steps I take to keep your information private

Where I store your information in third-party services, I restrict access only to people who need it. I store passwords using an encrypted password manager, use a different, randomly generated password for each service, and never use the same password twice. The computers I use are all encrypted and are protected by a passcode.

How to object

You have the right to correct any inaccuracies in the personal data I hold about you, or to change your mind about the usage rights you have given me. Please refer to the Contact page for details. You also have the right to ask me for a copy of the information about you, which I hold on my systems. I may charge you a small fee for the provision of this information to cover administration costs. Contact me by email at info@daintydesigns.co.uk or using my contact form online.

Updating your details

If any of the information that you have provided to me changes, please let me know the correct details by contacting me using the Contact page.

Changes to the policy

If I change the contents of this policy, those changes will become effective the moment I publish them on my website.
